Palworld

Palworld was a surprisingly fresh and incredibly addictive experience. The way it takes the Pokémon-style creature collecting formula and drops it into a fully 3D open world worked much better than I expected. While the game was somewhat buggy from time to time, it never took away enough from the experience to stop me from having fun.

One of the biggest surprises for me was the base building. I didn’t think I’d enjoy it nearly as much as I did, but I ended up spending a huge amount of time expanding and optimizing my base. It became one of my favorite parts of the game.

The biggest downside was the endgame grind. Some of the higher-tier items took so long to craft that I actually found myself leaving the game running while I did other things just to let the building timers finish. That part felt a bit tedious and could definitely be improved.

I also appreciated all the ideas Palworld borrowed from other games. There were clear inspirations from games like Elden Ring, and instead of feeling out of place, they came across as fun nods that added to the overall experience.

The graphics and sound were both solid, and the world itself was genuinely impressive to explore. Between the exploration, creature collecting, combat, and base building, Palworld kept me hooked for dozens of hours.

Overall, despite a few bugs and a somewhat tedious endgame grind, Palworld delivers a unique and highly enjoyable experience that I can easily recommend to anyone who enjoys open-world survival games or monster-collecting adventures.
